From Woodworking Bench to Crane Cab
Trindle's Tree Service was founded in 1998 by Billy Trindle, who came to tree work through woodworking and his hardwood-furnishing venture, B&B Wood Furnishing. That craftsman's background is still the heart of the company — a genuine respect for what a mature hardwood is worth, whether it's standing in your yard or milled into a live-edge slab.
Over more than 28 years, those roots grew into a full-service, safety-first tree contractor. Today Trindle's runs a USDOT-registered commercial fleet with crane capability, providing 24/7 emergency hazardous takedowns, precision crane removals, stump grinding, storm clearance, and custom timber salvage across Madison and St. Clair counties.
The work has earned real recognition: Trindle's is the winner of the 2025 Quality Business Award for Best Tree Service in Granite City, holds a BBB-accredited profile, and is fully licensed and insured — with a certificate of insurance available on request.
What Drives Every Job
Safety-Obsessed
Every job starts with a safety and utility review. We plan the pick before the boom goes up — because rushed tree work is how people get hurt.
Heavy-Machinery Skilled
Crane rigging and load calculation are our craft. It's what lets us take down the trees other crews turn away.
Respectful of Mature Trees
We remove only what must go, preserve what can be saved, and salvage quality hardwood instead of wasting it.
Community-Grounded
We live and work in the Metro East. Our reputation is built one Granite City neighbor at a time.
Licensed, Insured & Standards-Based
Credentials are not marketing to us — they are the difference between a safe job and a liability. Trindle's carries commercial general liability and workers' compensation coverage, operates a USDOT-registered commercial fleet, and provides a certificate of insurance on request. After a big storm, when out-of-town crews knock on doors offering cheap, uninsured work, that documentation is exactly what protects you as the property owner.
Our crews work to recognized arboriculture standards — ANSI A300 for tree care and ANSI Z133 for safety — with certified-arborist knowledge on the job. That means proper cuts at the branch collar, no topping, and no climbing spikes on a tree we're keeping. It is the same standard whether we're reducing a heritage oak or extracting a storm-felled cottonwood off a roof.
Every job starts the same responsible way, too: a safety check, a utility review with Ameren Illinois where lines are involved, a site and access review, and a written scope before any work begins — so you always know what's included and what it costs.
